Becoming a grandmother is wonderful. One moment you're just a mother. The next you are all-wise and prehistoric.

Here are the pictures I tried to put in a couple of days ago ... my funky grand daughter!! In one we are cooking and the other is just her playing dress up. I haven't figured out how to move them around to the right place yet so everything may be all over the place!!!

Prayer

Pastor Andy Henderson did Prayer Meeting last night as Pastor Hunter is away on a seminary course and he preached on "Prayer" ... it was great!! I love how our Pastors use themselves as examples and thus make us feel they are human and frail just like us! My sisters and I were just discussing at prayer time how hard it is to pray. We all agreed that we "talk to God" a lot, like when walking alone or in my case a lot as I'm alone a lot!! I'm not sure that could be defined as prayer. I also (and they agreed) tend to pray once I'm in bed and then I fall asleep half way through! But the "down on your knees" type of praying always seems so hard to get to! Here are a couple of quote from E.M. Bounds that I have written on a piece of paper in my Bible that I like:

"Our faith in prayer can be no passing attitude that changes with the wind or with our own feelings and circumstances; it must be a fact that God hears and answers, that His ear is ever open to the cry of His children and that the power to do what is asked of Him is commensurate with His willingness."

"It is only when the whole heart is gripped with the passion of prayer that the life-giving fire descends, for none but the earnest man gets access to the ear of God."

I am a big reader so you will be getting lots of quotes from me!

Sara ... I enjoyed reading about "prayer" on your blog ... maybe the Lord is calling us all to pray more as it seems to be a hot topic!! I hope you all continue to pray for me as I know you have been ... it is working!!

On a lighter note, here are a couple of "grandchildren/grandparent" quotes:'

Grandmothers are just "antique" little girls. (Author Unknown)
Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grandchild. (Welsh Proverb)
A grandmother is a babysitter who watches the kids instead of the television.

I think I am going to need some help to get this blog like I want it ... I can't find anywhere how to put the thingies on the side that you all have! I go to Page Elements and nothing there helps me I press on "add an element" and it goes "beep" ... maybe I'm locked out security wise or something stupid ... some days I hate my computer!! I have some really cute "grandchildren/grandparent" quotes that I would like to put on the site in an "element" and some sites that I would like to put there but can't figure it out ... Anne - you may have to come and help me!!

It has been a busy week for me making some changes in my life that have needed to be done for awhile now ... I need you all to pray for me as I deal with this. I just talked to my friend today and we are going to Myrtle Beach ... yes!! I think it will be good for me to just get away for awhile ... and Sara, I am going to get your number before I go and think about how I can go see you. We will only have one car so I hate to leave the others with no vehicle but I'll see what I can do ... maybe even rent one for a few days!! I will be there from roughly April 21st to May 21st. Then when I come back, camping season will be started and I am going to spend lots of time with my grandbabies there this summer. Here is a picture of Emma today. We set up a spare room as a playroom for her with her kitchen set and table and chairs, a bench and chair in her living room area and her carriage has to do for a bed for now. We are going to work on making it her little home as she is very into playing house and dolls and all that right now. It is so fun to listen to her ... today she was telling them that she didn't know if there was enough food for everyone so they might have to share. Too cute!

Well, I guess I'll have to put the pictures in later as I can't even get this to go find my pictures right now ... I'm finding this kind of frustrating and stressful!! How come it seems so simple for everyone else???

Welcome

I have been told that I should start a blog so here it is. I can't imagine what I will have to say that will be of much interest but we will give it a try! I just spent a couple of days with my friends, the Fosmarks, in Moncton and told them a story about how I gave my Grandson, Joey, an Uncle John's Bathroom Reader for kids for Christmas. They only have one bathroom in their home and he nearly drove them crazy because he was spending hours in the bathroom reading his Bathroom Reader ... thought because of the name that he had to read it in there! Gail said this was the type of thing to put out there as this is supposed to be a journal for me too and this way I can preserve some of these memories!

Here are a couple of pictures of my babies ... one is of my daughter and her family (Clay, Brittany, Brandon and Natalie) and was taken a couple of years ago. The other is of Joey and Emma taken at a beach in Deer Island last summer ... can you see why I am so taken with them?? As time goes on, I will be sharing many stories about them. For instance, I picked up Emma today from pre-school and she says, "Nannie, I have big news!" I said, "Oh, what is it?" and she says "Someone is coming to cut down Teacher Sharon's favorite tree tomorrow!" Everything is "big news" to her these days ... and often something from her imagination!
